Beaches

More than a dozen sandy beaches inviting play

The long strip of coastline north of Dublin city is blessed with a multitude of sandy beaches, three protected estuaries and salt marsh habitats. Nature’s bounty gives everyone room to walk, run, play, swim and most of all breathe deeply.

It’s ideal walking territory, safe and level. Swimmers watch the tides careful and many groups have informal times for communal dipping.

Buckets and spades never go out of fashion and neither does the post-play ’99 – the whipped ice cream topped with a chocolate flake that makes everyone feel like a child again.
