The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre – Steve Knightly
TSEAC is honoured to welcome the internationally acclaimed singer songwriter Steve Knightley, a defining figure in contemporary Folk, Acoustic and Roots music. Best known as a founding member of Show of Hands, Knightley’s work draws deeply from his connection to place (particularly the West Country) and blends English folk influences with the storytelling traditions of Bob Dylan and the poetic lyricism of Ted Hughes.
His acclaimed recent albums The Winter Yards and Positively Folk Street highlight his ongoing creative evolution, while songs like Country Life, Arrogance, Ignorance and Greed, and The Galway Farmer have cemented his standing as a writer of rare insight, empathy, and social awareness.
This performance offers a chance to experience one of the folk world’s most vital voices in an intimate setting, a night of storytelling, musicianship, and songs that resonate long after they’re sung.
