Donabate Portrane – Summer Festival
The Donabate Portrane Summer Festival is a vibrant, community-run celebration designed for families and visitors of all ages, bringing together a packed programme of entertainment, activities and local culture. Taking place over three days the festival transforms the area into a lively hub of fun and connection, with something for everyone throughout the weekend.
Across the event, attendees can enjoy a full funfair and carnival atmosphere, street entertainment, live music and dance performances featuring both local talent and professional acts from across Ireland. As well as a variety of engaging activities including bingo, a magic show, kite-making workshops, novelty races for children and adults and a craft fair showcasing local makers. Food and drink stalls will be available throughout, along with family-friendly attractions such as exotic animal displays and a spectacular fireworks display.
A dedicated sensory evening will also take place for patrons with additional needs, ensuring the festival remains inclusive and accessible to all.
In partnership with Swim Ireland, the weekend also features an open water swimming event on the Sunday, adding an exciting sporting element to the wider programme.
