Swords Comedy Festival Launches with Star-Studded Line-Up and Bank Holiday Laughs
Swords, County Dublin — The Swords Comedy Festival is set to bring a weekend of top-tier stand-up and live comedy to North Dublin, showcasing acclaimed Irish comedians and rising stars across multiple shows and venues.
The festival programme features headline performances including Dylan Mornan, David McSavage,, Barbara Scully, and Al Porter who will appear at venues all over Swords such as The Cock Tavern, The Pound, and Roganstown Hotel & Country Club, delivering what promises to be a weekend of high-energy stand-up as part of the festival’s Bank Holiday celebrations.
Another highlight event sees celebrated comics Willa White and Eric Lalor from ‘You Must Be Joking’ podcast take the stage in Swords on April 30, also presented as part of the festival lineup. Literary genius Paul Howard, creator of Ross O’Carroll-Kelly will bring his show to Peacock’s Bar & Lounge on May 3rd.
Organisers say the goal of the festival is to create a vibrant live-comedy experience in Swords, giving audiences the chance to see well-known comedians alongside emerging talent in an intimate setting. The event continues the town’s tradition of hosting live comedy nights featuring both Irish and international acts.
The Music Headliner: Kíla
For those who prefer music to comedy, we are proud to present Ireland’s greatest trad-band, Kíla. Award-winning band Kíla are heralded as one of Ireland’s most innovative and exciting bands. Their unique sound has been ever-evolving, rooted in tradition, yet inspired by a myriad of influences and ideas from all around the world. They shall perform on May 3 at Peacock’s Bar & Lounge.
