Lark After Dark: Night of the Living Dead (1968)

Experience George A. Romero’s Groundbreaking Night of the Living Dead on the Big Screen This Halloween

As Halloween night gets darker, The Lark ends its night of classic horror with the film that helped create the modern zombie movie.

George A. Romero’s groundbreaking Night of the Living Dead (1968) traps seven strangers inside a remote farmhouse while the dead gather outside.

Made on a tiny budget, it became a landmark of independent cinema and transformed horror forever. Its stark black-and-white images, claustrophobic atmosphere and relentless dread remain remarkably effective nearly six decades later.

There are few better nights to experience it properly. End Halloween with one of horror cinema’s defining films, on the big screen, in the darkness of a theatre.

Promotional event poster for a film screening, framed inside a dark gray film strip border with sprocket holes. The artwork features a black-and-white collage for George A. Romero's classic horror film, Night of the Living Dead. In the center, a man holding a shotgun stands ready, flanked by terrified survivors—including two women and two men. Lurking closely behind them in the shadows are two grotesque, snarling zombie faces. On the top left, white stylized text reads: "THE NIGHT MODERN HORROR BROKE THROUGH THE DOOR." The movie title, "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD," is displayed on the top right in large, bold, textured green blocks. The bottom features event branding with a green logo for "IRELAND HOME OF HALLOWEEN" and the title text "THE LARK AFTER DARK..." written in a glowing green font.
