Lark After Dark: The Phantom of the Opera (1925)

Experience Lon Chaney’s Iconic Phantom in the Timeless Gothic Horror Classic The Phantom of the Opera

More than a century after it first terrified audiences, the original 1925 The Phantom of the Opera returns to the big screen at The Lark.

Lon Chaney stars as the mysterious Phantom, haunting the hidden passages beneath the Paris Opera House in one of the defining films of early horror cinema.

With its vast gothic sets, theatrical atmosphere and one of cinema’s most famous unmasking scenes, this is a rare chance to experience a 100-year-old horror landmark as audiences originally did: on the big screen, together, in the darkness of a theatre.

The poster features a film strip frame over a classic black-and-white image of Lon Chaney's unmasked skeletal face looking terrified. Prominent text reads "THE MASK. THE MUSIC. THE SHADOW BENEATH THE OPERA HOUSE," and a green logo in the bottom corner marks it as part of "Ireland Home of Halloween."
