Culture Night Fingal 2026
The 21st edition of Culture Night takes place across Fingal on Friday, 18 September 2026, with a programme of 46 free events and activities across nine locations, delivered by Fingal County Council’s Arts Department. The programme celebrates Fingal’s creative and cultural community through art, music, dance, workshops, talks, tours, film screenings and family-friendly events.
Highlights include a special exhibition celebrating the work of Fingal artist Pamela Leonard at the Carnegie Library in Swords. At Malahide Castle, the curator will lead a special tour of Thinning the Veil, a contemporary art exhibition featuring Fingal artists and marking 50 years since the castle opened to the public.
The Arts Department will also unveil a new purpose-built residential artist studio in Lusk, while Creative Places Balbriggan ‘Making Waves’ brings artists and community groups together at Ardgillan Castle. Meanwhile, the Séamus Ennis Arts Centre welcomes violinist, visual artist and educator Ioana Petcu-Colan for an evening inspired by her exhibition Refractions.
Across Fingal Libraries, visitors can enjoy family-friendly events in Malahide, Balbriggan, Blanchardstown, Skerries and Swords, with performances from local groups and musicians. There will also be opportunities to explore local history and genealogy at Fingal Local Studies and Archives.
For those interested in science and heritage, DIAS Dunsink Observatory will open for self-guided tours exploring the history of astronomy. Heritage properties including Newbridge House, Skerries Mills and the Casino Model Railway Museum will also feature in the programme, adding further opportunities to discover Fingal’s history and cultural heritage.
